Since I’ve been living in Loreto, Mexico, I’ve had a lot of friends and family in the U.S. coming out to visit and asking me for my “best of Loreto” picks are. I get these questions so often, I thought I’d put together a blog post on the topic. Want to know where the best beach is, or the best bar? I’ve got you covered!

Best Restaurant in Loreto

Hands-down, my favorite restaurant in Loreto is Mi Loreto. For truly authentic, Mexican cuisine, Mi Loreto is your best bet. This busy, family-run business, (be sure to say hola to Edgar!) is adorable with delicious cuisine (try the Mole!) and to-die-for cocktails (try the Mango Margarita!) Best Hotel in Loreto

My favorite hotel would be La Mision Hotel on the Malecón. This elegant resort is rich with a contemporary European-Mexican Hacienda style, yet still has an old-world throwback style evocative of the Old Mission flavor of Baja Mexico. Situated near the airport, this spa resort is within a 5-minute walk of Loreto Bay National Marine Park and Civic Square.

Best Bar in Loreto

With a fun and festive atmosphere, my favorite bar in Loreto is Mike’s Bar (go see Irene!) There is a restaurant upstairs called Playa Blanca and during summer months, they often have live music. For address and other info, check them out on Facebook.
